Brass Band Bandmaster Required for Cambridge Area Brass Band
Can you conduct a brass band?
Due to changing work circumstances, our current bandmaster will no longer be able to conduct for us any longer. We're a friendly 4th section band who are not currently contesting but have done in the past. If you are interested, please contact our chairman.
Dig out your instrument, and join Cottenham Brass Band in Cambridgehshire!
We meet Thursday evenings starting at 7.45pm until 9.45pm, with players from all over the Cambridge Area.
The success of the band is due to team effort, all the members are willing to help each other and many are close friends. All the band members are friendly and will give you any help you need; don't be afraid to ask.
The only requirement is a commitment to learn
When you have reached an agreed standard, play for the band at engagements as required.
Don't worry if you haven't played your brass instrument for awhile. Some of the band hadn't played an instrument for twenty years, and found Cottenham Brass Band a welcoming place to get back into the swing of things.
The band can usually supply a loan instrument, so there is no need to spend any money on an instrument immediately.
Current Vacancies: Bandmaster, Cornets, Basses, Horns, and Percussion, though all players are welcome.
We currently have vacancies across the band, for front and back row cornets as well as for Percussionists, Baritone and Euphonium players. The current band members are shown on our members page. If you think that the band looks full, remember, many players cannot make it to every performance, so we can find room for you.
